Culture Passes
Mechanicsburg Public Library is excited to partner with the Columbus Museum of Art to offer Culture Passes to our library cardholders! The America-250 Ohio Commission has announced the 4th Grade History Pass – a free pass for every fourth-grade student in Ohio to visit participating history-related museums and sites free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult. Passes are not available for pickup at the Library, but may be printed from our public computers.

Kanopy
Using your Mechanicsburg Public Library card, you can now access Kanopy. With an extensive collection of narrative and documentary films, as well as TV series and kids content, we’re pleased to bring this streaming service to our community. Go to www.kanopy.com/mechanicsburg to get started today. Patrons will receive 15 tickets per month. Checking out items can range from 1-5 tickets, depending on length of running time. The viewing period is 3-21 days, depending on length of running time. Kids content does not require tickets; checking out a 30 day pass will let you access all kids content. PAWS for Reading

Our PAWS for Reading program is a partnership of reading and animal-assisted therapy teams.  It offers young readers a place and time to read aloud to therapy animals.  Children who have hated reading find that it can be fun with listeners who are uncritical reading partners.  Practicing literacy skills with their listening animals provides a comfortable, non-threatening environment for children who are nervous and self-conscious about reading aloud.   Trained therapy animals make great listeners who help children gain confidence about their reading and improve thei

Worm Races

The 28th annual W.W.O.R.M. for 2022 sped by as we had one of the fastest race time in history! 

For the week of May 16-19, students from Dohron Wilson Elementary School came to the library to see if their worm would be the fastest for their grade level. On Friday, May 20, Miss Caitlin journeyed to the school to discover who had the fastest worm of all. In this final competition, we had:

Story Times

Weekly preschool story times are on Wednesdays for ages 2-5 years.  Check our calendar for the dates. Sessions are from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., in our meeting room at 60 South Main Street, Mechanicsburg, Ohio.  These programs are intended to support early learning in a group setting. Join us for a mixture of stories and activities that provide enjoyable opportunities for the children to practice skills that prepare them for reading.  We want to encourage children to enjoy shared language experiences.
